Manage Promotion

This section will allow you to create/update promotions for your existing items, including general promotion, volume discount and subscription settings.

How-To:


Add a General Promotion

Create generic promotion for item(s) listed in your Newegg account.

How –To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > General Promotion
  2. Click ADD A PROMOTION to schedule a promotion
  3. Click ADD ITEMS to add item(s) to promotion addapromotion01.jpg
  4. Add items from your item list for promotion
    1. Select an item from search result by checking on item box.
    2. If you want to select all items from every page, select this option.
    3. If your item is with variations, i.e. different color options, and you would like to include all variations for promotion, select this option to include all variations in the promotion.
    4. When item(s) have been selected and you are done with adding item(s), click OK button. addapromotion02.jpg
  5. When item(s) have been added for promotion you will need to enter additional information for promo item(s).
    1. Enter Promotion Price & Shipping (*) represents a required field
      • Promo MSRP - item's MSRP
      • Promo Selling Price* - item's selling price
      • Promo Shipping - Shipping type, default or free
    2. Enter Promotion Basic Information (*) represents a required field
      • Promo Text* - text for the item, will appear on Newegg website
      • Promo Description* - description of promotion, will not appear on Newegg website, (max chars 100)
      • Start Date* - start date/time (PST) which promo will start, must be 2 hours later than current time.
      • End Date* - end date/time (PST) which promo will end
      • Limit Qty - max quantity of item that can be purchased by customer within 48 hours.
      • Max Qty - max quantity that can be sold for item during the entire promotion period
      • Min Inventory - min inventory level that you committed to having in stock for the promotion
      • Inventory Locked - If checked, changes by data feeds or Seller Portal will not reduce the inventory so that it's lower than the min inventory level. We strongly recommend not checking this option unless you have spoken to a Newegg Marketplace Specialist and understand the commitment.
      • Notify NE for more exposure - Selecting this option will notify Newegg of this promotion. Exceptional promotions may be selected by Newegg to be included in some of their own marketing merchandising vehicles, such as Email Blast, Daily Deals, Shell Shockers, etc.
    3. Save or Save and Approve - Click SAVE to create pending promotion or click SAVE AND APPROVE to create and approve promotion in Seller Portal.addapromotion03.jpg

Batch Creating General Promotion (Neweggbusiness.com, Newegg.ca Only)

Batch create generic promotion for item(s) listed for Neweggbusiness.com or Newegg.ca account.

How-To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > General Promotion
  2. Click BATCH CREATEgp_batchpromo_1.png
  3. Download file, click DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE FILE (.XLS format only) and process:
    • Open file refer to Instructions sheet for details.
    • Input all requirements in BatchGeneralPromotionCreation sheet.
    • Save file, refer to next step for uploading file.gp_batchpromo_2.png
  4. Upload file, click Select files, browse local drive and select file to upload, click UPLOAD FILES.
  5. Uploaded File Status and History, get history of uploaded file and/or error report:
    • Set date range accordingly, click REFRESH LIST to view listing.
    • When file has been uploaded, Newegg system will provide a report if any errors occurred, click View Details to view errors.gp_batchpromo_3.png

View a Promotion

You can review all existing promotions with promotion details.

How-To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > General Promotion. Click ADVANCED SEARCH to narrow your search list, if needed.
  2. Click the arrow next to each promotion record to see the restore value- indicates what the unit price, instant rebate, and shipping type will be restored to when the promotion is over.
  3. Promo Status-
    • Pending - Created but not approved. Will not go live at your set time unless approved. Seller can edit promotion details by clicking pencil icon under Action column.
    • Approved - Created and approved. Official promotion that will be executed when schedule starts.
    • Declined - Promotion that has been declined. Cannot modify any further.
    • On Promotion - Promotion that is currently on-going.
    • Closed - A promotion that has been closed either because it has ended or has been manually closed ahead of schedule.
    • Force Closed - A promotion that has been closed ahead of schedule by administrator/account manager.
    • Please note: voided promotion will not show up on the list.
  4. Click exportall.jpg icon to export promotion item(s) to an MS Excel file.
  5. Functions to manage promotions:
    • Notify Newegg - click to notify Newegg for more exposure ( exposureicon.jpg ) icon will displayed in promo status.
    • UnNotify Newegg - click to remove more exposure option and icon from promo item.
    • Void - click to stop a pending promo item
    • Force Close - click to stop an approve promotion.
    • Approve - click button to approve pending promo item only
    • Decline - click decline to reject pending promo item only

For promo item(s) under Pending status, first check item(s) to either APPROVE, DECLINE, VOID, NOTIFY NEWEGG or UNNOTIFY NEWEGG. viewpromotion02.jpg


For promo item(s) under Approved status, first check item(s) to either NOTIFY NEWEGG, UNNOTIFY NEWEGG, or FORCE CLOSE. viewpromotion03.jpg


To stop On Promotion early, first check item(s), click FORCE CLOSE. Declined/closed items you can no longer modify. If items are on Newegg Flash Promotions, seller cannot force close promotions, please send request to Datafeeds@newegg.com. viewpromotion04.jpg

Create New Promotion Code

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Promotion Code
  2. Click + ADD A NEW PCODE to begin creating a new promo code.mp_pc.png
  3. Choose Promotion Type:
    • Select Item Discount or Free Shipping.
    • Click NEXT to continue.mp_pc1.png
  4. Define Qualification & Benefits:
    • Select qualification of promotion.
    • Select benefits.
    • Mouse-over the “?” for more details regarding each field.
    • Click NEXT to continue.mp_pc2.png
  5. Input Promo Code Characteristics:
    • Defining promo code. You can either enter your own code, just be Alphanumeric and Max characters is 20, or click AUTO-GENERATE for system to assign you one.
    • Enter all required information. Mouse-over the “?” for more details regarding each field.

  6. Review and Submit:
    • Review the detail of the promo code information. Click PREVIOUS to make changes or SAVE AND APPROVE to confirm and live promotion.
    • Important! If you only see the option SAVE then you will need approval from your administrator to live current promotion. mp_pc_rs.png

Manage Existing Promotion Codes

How-To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Promotion Code
  2. Click SEARCH to view all codes.
  3. Select Promotion Code(s):
    • Click VOID to end promo code before the start of promotion.
    • Click FORCE CLOSE to end promo code during promotion.
    • Important! For administrator user, click APPROVE to activate a pending status promo code.mp_pc5.png

Newegg Flash

NeweggFlash is the new “flash sale” division of Newegg. You can add more exposures for your items by submitting item promotions to NeweggFlash using the following tool. This function is available for Newegg.com only, it is not available for Newegg.ca and Neweggbusiness.com.

How-To:

  1. To view existing promotion: Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Newegg Flash.
  2. To add items to NeweggFlash, you will need to contact merchandisers to set this up at mpdeals@newegg.com.

Submit Deals

This function allows sellers to submit deals directly to Marketplace Deal Center. This function is available for Newegg.com only.It is not available for Newegg.ca and Neweggbusiness.com.

How-To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Submit Deals
  2. Click pencil icon to go to Marketplace Deal Center tab.submitdeals.jpg
  3. Click ADD SINGLE to add single item.
  4. Click ADD ITEM to add item to promotion.submitdeals02.jpg
  5. Add item from your item list for promotion
    1. Select an item from search result by checking on item box.
    2. When item has been selected and you are done with adding item, click the OK button.submitdeals03.jpg
  6. When item has been added for promotion you will need to enter price, shipping & basic information for promo item(s).

  7. All promotions seller submitted are initially in pending status. Seller can edit promotion details by clicking icon under Action column. Our promotion team will review the request and once the request gets approved, will assign an appropriate promotion vehicle for the item and the status will be changed to Approved. submitdeals05.jpg
  8. To remove deals, check the items and click RETRACT. submitdeals06.jpg


Batch submit deals to Marketplace Deals Center via Data feed or API

We also provide Data feed via Seller Portal and API interface to enable batch submit deals to our deal center.

Using Seller Portal:

How-To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Submit Deals.
  2. Click pencil icon to go to Marketplace Deal Center tab.
  3. Click BATCH LOAD ITEMS to access the download/upload template section.batchsubmitdeals01.jpg

  5. Fill out template and upload the file for processing.
  6. Check the process result in the upload history.

Volume Discount

This function allows sellers to set tiered discount based on customer purchase volume quantity or volume discount price. Currently seller can set 3 tiers of volume discount at most.

How-To:

  1. Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Volume Discount
  2. Click ADD VOLUME DISCOUNT button to create volume discount.addvolumedisount01.jpg
  3. Input Item number or seller part# in following textbox, then system will locate the target
  4. Input 1st Tier Qty and 1st Tier Priceaddvolumedisount02.jpg
  5. Select the shipping method. Please note shipping method for all of 3 tiers must be unified.addvolumedisount03.jpg
  6. Click “+” to add the next tier and input tiered Qty/Price, you can create 3 tiers at most.
  7. Click “-” to remove a tier, you need to create the volume discount with 1 tier at least. addvolumedisount04.jpg
  8. Click SAVE to submit, system may take up to 15 minutes to be reflected on our systems, and then you can search the item w/ volume discount in above grid.
  9. When the process has completed, you can see the volume discount table under the buy box.addvolumedisount05.jpg

Edit Volume Discount

How-To:

  1. Search item w/ volume discount setting, click icon to populate it in below table; update the tiered Qty/Price and shipping method, then click SAVE to submit. editvolumediscount01.jpg

Batch Create Volume Discount

Using Seller Portal:

How-To

  2. Fill out the template, then upload the file from following tab: batchcreatevolumediscount02.jpg
  3. System will process the file in background and then apply the volume discount upon valid inputs. You can check the upload history & results here: batchcreatevolumediscount03.jpg
  4. If you select Download template with data in the file under Download File Template tab, system will generate the template in background and retrieve all item w/ volume discounts populated in. you can check the status here and download the file once system finished it in the background. Seller Portal User Guide

  • Discount percentage as specified by the subscription program
  • Free shipping for all subscription qualifying items
  • One subscription program per subcategory at a time
  • Shipment frequencies of one-month up to six-months depending on customer selection
  • Standard sales order processing for subscriptions; processing is no different from a nonsubscription order
  • Subscriptions are not available to customers with shipping addresses in: APO/FPO, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico

How-To:

  1. Access Seller Portal, then open Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Subscription Settings
  2. You can view available subscription program(s) in the following table, where specific program information will be displayed. Information includes program status, program subcategory, program discount, etc.viewavailableprograms01.jpg
    The Program Type (S&S) “Subscription & Save” is defined as one type of program applicable to physical goods with a variant discount percentage and one eligible subcategory.
  3. Select a program to check your eligibility. If you have eligible items within the program subcategory, you can Join Program to begin the item set up process.
    Eligible Items: Some individual item(s) may not belong to the program subcategory however you still have the ability to include them.viewavailableprograms02.jpg

Join a Program

How-To:

  1. Click Join Program label to join a new program. Review the Terms & Conditions before clicking to AGREE.joinaprogram01.jpg

    Select a subcategory to opt-in all available items by default.joinaprogram03.jpg
    You can filter the opt-in items by manufacturer. Only the selected manufacturer(s)’ product(s) can opt-in to the program. (Optional)joinaprogram04.jpg
    Alternatively, you can exclude items from the subscription. (Optional)joinaprogram05.jpg
    Note: A warning message may be displayed if your subcategory is ineligible for the subscription program. There are two reasons that may cause this situation:
    1. You have no items under this specific subcategory.
    2. The system cannot find any item matching the requirements for the program; i.e. new item condition, therefore a refurbished item will not be eligible.joinaprogram06.jpg joinaprogram07.jpg
      Once you have completed the settings, the system will process the data and apply the subscription to the eligible items. You can click the Opt-In or Out-Out items to see the detailed item list:joinaprogram08.jpg
  3. You can also check the eligible item exception in the grid. These items will be added to the subscription program once you submit the setting.joinaprogram09.jpg

Update a Joined Program

How-To:

  1. Click EDIT to edit a joined program. You can adjust the opt-in or opt-out setting by updating the eligible subcategories and items. Then click SUBMIT to save and submit the updates.updateajoinedprogram01.jpg updateajoinedprogram02.jpg
  2. Click Withdraw from program to abandon a program to remove ALL of the opt-in items. You will not be able to remove an opt-in item if it is currently being subscribed by customer(s). Maintain Opt-in Items

How-To:

  1. Open Opt-in Items tab to search all your opt-in items. You can view item details, subscription information, and more. The system will display the customer subscribed quantity in 7, 15, and 30 day intervals for reference. In place of removing items by editing a joined program, you can also add or remove items here. To opt-in an item, click Add to search and select item(s) from the pop-up.maintainopyinitems01.jpg
  2. To remove item(s) from the opt-in item list, select the item(s) from the grid and then select Batch Remove Item From Subscription and click GO.maintainopyinitems02.jpg


Subscription Program Reporting & Notifications

Inventory Planning

  1. Access Seller Portal, then open Manage Promotion > Subscription Settings. Select the Opt-in Items tab.
  2. You can view real-time inventory and customer subscribed quantities in 7, 15, and 30 days to plan your inventory pipeline. inventoryplanning.jpg

Email Notifications

By joining a subscription program, you will receive a daily email on new customer subscription information including item(s), quantity, subscription frequency, and customer cancellations - if any.

Batch Opt-in and Opt-out Items via Data Feed and API

We also provide Data feed via Seller Portal and API interface to enable batch opt-in or out-out of items for the subscription program.

Using Seller Portal:

How-To

  1. Go to Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Promotion > Subscription Settings. Select the tab of Opt-in Items.
  2. On the Opt-in Items page, click the BATCH UPDATE Button to access the download/upload template section.batchoptinitems01.jpg
  3. Select template file and click Download file template button to download template. batchoptinitems02.jpg
  4. Enter correct item information in the template:
    • Column 1: SellerPart#. Your unique identification number for your item.
    • Column 2: Action. The operation you would like to process for setting subscription. There are two actions are available: Add for opt-in items and Remove for opt-out items.batchoptinitems03.jpg
  5. Once you completed the item list feed, please upload your file for processing.

  • By submitting your item list, all listed items will be automatically join/leave all the ongoing Newegg subscription programs.
  • Item list file can only be uploaded through Seller Portal not FTP. For any questions regarding subscription setting in batch, please contact datafeeds@newegg.com
